The Anteater Undergraduate Law Review is a peer-edited academic journal dedicated to producing high-quality legal scholarship written entirely by undergraduates. Members spend the year researching, writing, and editing articles that cover constitutional law, policy analysis, emerging legal issues, and more.

Additionally, as a member of the AULR, you will have the chance to be published in a UC-wide campus journal, our UC All-Star Journal.

The Anteater Undergraduate Law Review is seeking contributors for Volume 02, to be published in Spring 2027. We are looking for creative and dedicated undergraduate students to apply to be writers and editors for our next volume.

Our recruitment and onboarding process takes place each fall. Find us at the Anteater Club Fair and attend our informational session early Fall to learn about the journal, our mission, and what membership looks like day-to-day.

Complete our application form, which includes a short writing sample, a resume, and a brief statement of interest in legal scholarship.

Accepted members will be invited to our first meeting of the year. An essential kickoff event where you will dive into contributing to editing cycles or working towards publishing your own piece.

Common Questions

Do I need prior legal knowledge to apply?

Not at all! We welcome students from all majors and backgrounds. What matters most is your enthusiasm for legal topics and your willingness to learn. We'll teach you what you need to know about legal citation, research, and writing style throughout the year.

When does recruitment open?

Recruitment opens at the start of the fall quarter. We strongly encourage you to attend the club fair and our interest meeting early in the semester and before applications close. Follow our social media for exact dates.

Is there a GPA requirement?

We look at your application holistically. While strong academic performance is valued, we prioritize your writing ability, intellectual curiosity, and commitment over GPA alone.

What is the time commitment?

Members typically dedicate several hours per week during active editing and writing cycles. There are regular meetings and deadlines throughout the academic year. We'll outline the full commitment at our orientation so you know exactly what to expect.

Can I join if I am a first-year student?

Yes! We welcome all undergraduate students, including first-years. Starting early is a great way to build your skills and resume before applying to law school or graduate programs.
